Neymar came in with infection in the anal region, severely dehydrated and with jaundice. He was eating and keeps eating.
CBC and Biochemistry were performed, showing signs of neutrophilia, anemia with low platelets, some liver alterations (which justify jaundice). Medical treatment was initiated to control anemia and reduce liver damage, together witch controlling systemic infection.
Xray was performed, where it could be detected a pelvic fracture, which explains the lack of contractility of both anal and urinary sfincters, along with loss of movement and sensitivity of the tail. At the same time, it was palpable and visible a significant inflammation of the testicles and scrotum which was approached medically at a first glance.
Eventually Neymar started to improve mentation and jaundice. However, with time the scrotum started to necrose, where Neymar started to show signs of urinary difficulties. This rendered us no option but to operate and excise the affected skin. Surgery was performed and at the same time it was applied an urinary catheter to help with the full emptying of the bladder while the wound site heals.
Neymar is defecating without need of help but still needs help with emptying the bladder fully. Bloodwork will be repeated for control this week.
